Meet Your Counselor

As a 12-year-old boy, I trusted Jesus as my Savior. I’m grateful for a mother who faithfully took me to church, taught me about Jesus, and pointed me to the gospel from an early age. That decision changed the direction of my life.

While I came to faith as a child, God used my late twenties to deepen my faith and teach me what it means to live in wholehearted obedience to Him. That period of my life transformed the way I approached my relationship with Jesus and ignited a passion for His Word, discipleship, and helping others grow in their faith.

God has faithfully guided my journey from Texas to Florida and now to North Carolina. Along the way, He has blessed me with faithful mentors who invested in my life and opportunities to serve through teaching, discipleship, and church leadership, including serving on a church’s Pastoral Council. Most recently, He has given me the privilege of founding and leading a growing men’s ministry with more than 100 men. Looking back, I can clearly see how God has used each chapter of my life to prepare me for the ministry He has called me to today.

Awakened Ministries was founded to help people know Jesus more deeply by providing biblical counseling, discipleship, and practical encouragement rooted in God’s Word. My desire is to help people understand God’s Word, trust Him more deeply, and experience the lasting change that comes from walking with Jesus. Whether someone is seeking guidance, encouragement, or biblical counsel, my goal is to point them to Jesus and the sufficiency of His Word.

To better prepare for this calling, I am currently completing a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counseling (Life Coaching) through Liberty University. My counseling approach is grounded in Scripture and seeks to combine biblical truth with compassionate, Christ-centered care.

I have been married to my wife, Vivian, for more than 38 years. Together, we have been blessed with two daughters, two wonderful sons-in-law, three grandchildren, and another grandchild on the way. Our family is one of God’s greatest blessings, and we are grateful for His faithfulness through every stage of life.
